A rare early 17th Century Italian Renaissance carved walnut commode. With elaborately carved stiles featuring corbels, centurions and hermes, each drawer with handles carved as different Philosophers heads. With small central carved drawer of a coat of arms and drawers dividers with bead and reel carving. All raised on stylised lion paw feet. Good rich colour and patina. Circa 1620.
